The Elevate Team

We look forward to meeting you!

If you have any questions about how we can best help you with your pelvic health needs, please get in contact.

  • Anna graduated from the University of Otago in 2007 and spent 13 years working across private hospitals and private practice in the UK. She moved back to New Zealand at the end of 2023 and joined the Elevate team, drawn home to be closer to family and enjoy a more balanced, outdoor lifestyle.

With a strong musculoskeletal physiotherapy background and extensive orthopaedic knowledge, Anna developed a growing interest in pelvic health around the time she had her own children. She is passionate about supporting women through pregnancy, postnatal recovery, and beyond - combining pelvic health expertise with a whole-body approach to rehabilitation.

Anna is a trained APPI Pilates Instructor (matwork and equipment) and is also trained in acupuncture with the UK’s AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists). Two years ago, she completed specialist pelvic health training with POGP (Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy, UK) in London.

    Anna currently treats:

    • Bladder and pelvic floor dysfunction

    • Diastasis recti

    • Pelvic girdle pain

    • Post-gynaecological surgery rehabilitation

    • Antenatal and postnatal care and recovery

She helps clients achieve their goals by combining hands-on treatment, education, Pilates-based exercise rehabilitation, manual therapy, and progressive strengthening, always tailored to real life. Her aim is to support people back to their best level of function, whether that’s returning to sport or keeping up with the grandkids.

Anna strongly believes in educating and empowering clients with practical tools they can use long-term to prevent recurrence of pain and dysfunction. As a mum of two young boys, she understands busy schedules and the importance of prioritising your health and wellbeing in the middle of them.

Outside of work, Anna enjoys a strong coffee, staying active with Pilates and yoga, and running around with her boys.

  • After graduating from Otago University in 2013, Carla has worked in both New Zealand and Australia in the private sector. During her time in Melbourne her focus shifted from musculoskeletal Physiotherapy where she completed post-graduate studies in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy and the female athlete.

Carla works alongside wahine of all ages as they navigate changes throughout their lifespan, from high performance sports, sexual health, their childbearing years and beyond. She is passionate about pelvic health and reducing the stigma that surrounds it. Carla embraces a holistic approach to health and believes everyone should be able to move well and live an active and healthy lifestyle.

Carla’s also a mum of three and always on the go! You’ll see her running, at the gym, or cruising around on her cargo bike with the kids. When she’s not in clinic, she’s usually exploring the region with her whanu, juggling home renos and the latest sourdough experiment.

  • Kimi has been part of the Elevate Physio team for several years and also provides pelvic health Physiotherapy at Te Whatu Ora Nelson Hospital.

Her interest in pelvic health was sparked following the birth of her first child. Alongside personal insight into pelvic floor rehabilitation, Kimiora brings extensive clinical experience across gynaecological inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as colorectal, urological, pelvic and sexual pain, maternity, and men’s pelvic health conditions.

    Common conditions Kimiora treats include:

    • Urinary incontinence and faecal incontinence

    • Overactive bladder

    • Birth-related injuries

    • Pelvic organ prolapse

    • Persistent pelvic pain

    • Vulvodynia and dyspareunia

    • Constipation and defecation dysfunction

Specialist areas include pre- and post-operative prostatectomy rehabilitation and lower anterior resection syndrome (LARS).

Born and raised in Nelson, Kimiora moved home to be closer to family. Before physiotherapy, she trained professionally in dance for three years. Owner/Director – Elevate Physio (and Haven Health Collective)

Celia is currently only available for existing patients or specialist referrals. If you’re new to the clinic, please book with one of our other skilled Pelvic Physiotherapists, or contact us to join Celia’s waitlist (approximately 3 months).

Celia grew up in Golden Bay and moved to Dunedin to study Physiotherapy at the University of Otago, graduating in 2007. She discovered her passion for pelvic health early in her career while working in Invercargill, and later moved to Australia to pursue further training while working in private practice. During this time, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Continence and Women’s Health at Curtin University (Perth). After some well-earned travel adventures, Celia and her husband made Nelson home in 2016.

She became a physio because she loves the mix of science and people, but what really drives her is helping you feel understood, supported, and clear on what to do next. Her approach is practical, whole-body, and real-life friendly: less “perfect plan,” more “what will work for you in your life”

Over the years, Celia has supported people through many life stages and seasons, including pregnancy and postnatal recovery, mastitis care, menopause, osteoporosis, and pre- and post-operative rehabilitation. She’s big on education (because confidence changes outcomes), helping you rebuild in a way that fits your goals - whether that’s returning to sport, lifting your kids without pain, or getting back to long walks without paying for it later.

Creating Elevate (and later Haven) came from a simple idea: healthcare works best as a team, because nothing happens in isolation (and we’re more than just a pelvis!). Celia wanted to create a calm, welcoming space where you can see the practitioners you need, without feeling rushed or judged. Just skilled care, a clear plan, and a team that genuinely has your back.

Outside the clinic, Celia loves adventures with her family. Mountain biking, trail running, tramping, and getting lost in a good book. She loves learning new activities and has dabbled in everything from CrossFit to hockey, equestrian, and multisport… because why have one hobby when you can have 5!

  • Kylie grew up in Nelson and moved to Melbourne in 2010, where she built a strong background in management and quality assurance. She’s naturally wired for making things run smoother, creating efficiencies, improving processes, and bringing calm to busy systems (which is basically a love language in clinic life).

After welcoming her son during Melbourne’s Covid lockdown in 2020, Kylie returned home to Nelson to be closer to family and enjoy everything that’s good about small-town coastal living.

At Elevate, Kylie is often your first point of contact. She helps with bookings, questions, and making sure you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. As a first-time mum in an ever-changing world, she understands how important it is to build your “village,” and she’s passionate about making sure you feel supported and welcomed.

Outside the clinic, Kylie runs The Memory Tile, a photo magnet business that turns favourite moments into high-quality magnets you’ll love having on display (I love mine!). We’re proud of how she’s grown the business, her creativity and attention to detail shows in every order.

Silvia Risi
  • Silvia works part-time in our administration and reception team, bringing extensive experience in customer service and administrative roles. She spent many years self-employed, co-running a small engineering company with her partner, and still continues to be involved in the business.

At Elevate, Silvia is often the first friendly face or voice you’ll meet. She loves helping people feel welcomed, heard, and organised as they navigate their care. Silvia creates a calm, non-judgemental front-desk experience so that reaching out for pelvic health support feels that little bit easier.

Outside of work, Silvia enjoys getting out on adventures with her young children, getting creative with crafting projects, travelling, camping, and dancing like no one’s watching at her favourite Zumba classes.
